North Korea has expelled American college tyro Otto Warmbier, who is on his approach behind to a U.S. and won’t be forced to offer a 15-year jail term, according to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. Warmbier is in a coma, his father tells NPR.

News of a University of Virginia student’s medical condition came on a heels of his release. Fred Warmbier tells NPR’s Emily Kopp that he’s been told his son has been in a coma given someday after his sentencing in Mar of 2016.

Earlier Tuesday, Tillerson had supposing usually few sum about Warmbier or a resources around his release.

Later, Tillerson pronounced during a start of testimony before a Senate Foreign Relations Committee, “We have no criticism on Mr. Warmbier’s condition, out of honour to him and a family.”
